Selections From the de la Cruz Collection
This year, rather than doing a traditional thematic exhibition or creating a dialogue between the individual artists, we wanted the overall pattern of the installation to be seen as a large puzzle; where the installation throughout the space transcends preconceived notions of authorship. Some of the walls in the space are installed reminiscent of salon style. Upon first encountering the overall exhibition, we are overwhelmed by color and pattern. On closer observation, the pattern dissolves, allowing the individual works to reveal themselves and become more familiar.
