The relation between art and architecture is a common theme in this year exhibition schedule at the
Castello di Rivara. Each exhibition is conceived as an autonomous event.

The Castle of Rivara will open three exhibitions on June 8th,1991. All the artists will be present.

A John M Armleder retrospective, curated by Giorgio Verzotti, will be held in the castle's neo-baroque
rooms. The selected works range from the late seventies to the present also including a group of
installations specially conceived for this occasion. The exhibition, which will remain on view until
November, has been conceived in collaboration with the artist and Galleria Massimo De Carlo in
Milano. A catalogue will be published.

"Itinerari", curated by Benjamin Weil, will present works by Dominique González-Foerster, Fellx
González-Torres, Haha, Matthew McCaslin and Craig Wood. Each of these young artists will work
directly with the existent architectural structures, producing one or more installations for the medieval
castle. A video catalogue will be published.

A presentation of historical works by Dan Graham will include photography, video and architectural
models. The exhibition, which will be held in the stables of the castle, is organized in collaboration
with the artist. A selection of essays on and by Dan Graham, will be published to accompany the show.

Two other exhibitions will open on September 21st 1991. "Projections" will consist of 30 projects for
slide projection. Each artist involved in the exhibition (Angela Bulloch, Mark Dion, Isa Genzken, Clegg
& Guttmann, Thomas Locher, Ken Lum, Jutta Koether, Peter Nagy, Marcel Odenbach, Rosemarie
Trockel etc.) will contribute one to five slides. Instead of a catalogue, a limited edition of this
collection of slides will be offered for sale allowing the visitor to purchase an exact replica of this show.
The exhibition is curated by Gregorio Magnani who is the new artistic director of the Castello di Rivara.

On the same day the Canadian artist Alan Belcher will present drawings and architecturals projects for
his most recent installation at the Spiral Gallery in Tokyo. Finally, still on September 12, a small
Gordon Matta-Clark retrospective will open in the castle stables.
