As a reaction to the difficult historical moment we are experiencing, The Blank has chosen to convert the tenth edition of the Festival (12-15 November 2020) into digital form rather than cancel it, thus giving a signal of resistance from the world of culture.
On Friday 13 November 2020, Il Dono inaugurated at Palazzo della Ragione in the Sala delle Capriate. On life and death curated by Stefano Raimondi: the exhibition is available thanks to the virtual guided tour of the curator and the tales of the artists, waiting to be visited in person.
The gift. On life and death presents works by seven international artists - Matilde Cassani, Alberto Garutti, Felix Gonzalez-Torres, Andrea Mastrovito, Jonathan Monk, Andrea Romano and Namsal Siedlecki - in dialogue with as many voluntary associations under the coordination of CSV Bergamo - Centro Service for Volunteering: Aid for Autonomy Odv ONLUS, Avis Provinciale Bergamo, National Body for the Protection of Animals (ENPA) - Bergamo section, Fabbrica Dei Sogni ONLUS, Botanical Garden of Bergamo 'Lorenzo Rota' and First Listening Alzheimer.
The exhibition, through historical works and new productions, investigates the theme of the gift, pushing itself towards the two dialectical boundaries that determine the existence of every man: life and death.
